ADEN-SABA
Yemen's political parties and all stakeholders have issued a condemnation against the Houthi militia's "atrocities in the capital Sana'a and other provinces under its control."
In a joint statement of which Saba received a copy, the 11 major political actors including the GPC party, the Yemeni Congregation for Reform and the Yemen Socialist party said they are "following up with great concern the recent developments that have been unfolding since the December 2 turmoil in Sana'a and the increased Houthi violation of human rights."
They said that the Houthis have been abusing "several political and societal stakeholders on top of which is the GP party (…) by killing, intimidations, storming and looting of political party headquarters, houses and commercial stores and by abducting activists, forcing them into disappearance, torturing in jails, imposing house arrests on others, using abductees as human shields during combat and repressing all forms of dissent by brutal means that did not even spare women and children."
The parties demanded "the United Nations and all international and regional human rights organizations to intervene to protect the political leaders, activists and media bandits and to protect the parties' headquarters" and to force the radical militia to disclose the whereabouts of the forcibly disappeared.
