PM praises ICRC for alleviating war-related suffering

Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin-Daghr praised the International Committee of the Red Cross ICRC for the efforts they have been exerting to alleviate the people's suffering as a result of the Saleh-Houthi militia's coup.
Premier bin-Dagher and the head of the ICRC-Yemen, Alexander Faite held a meeting in Aden on Tuesday night and discussed a number of humanitarian issues.
The premier was briefed by Faite on the situation of prisoners in all provin ces of Yemen.
The ICRC head made clear that what the ICRC seeks is the documentation and registration of prisoners and to ensure for them the right of communication with their families and children.
Faite also said that his committee is working earnestly to fight the cholera epidemic proliferating in different provinces especially the areas under the control of the coup militias.
The premier said the government of Yemen places a special emphasis to the prisoners situation as a humanitarian issue, saying the government's attitude toward prisoners is intact, in line with the UN resolution 2216 which requires the release of all prisoners including the Minister of Defense Mahmoud Asubeihi, Maj. Naser Mansour and Maj.
Faysal Rajab. The premier pointed that the coup militias refuse the release of prisoners and continue to abduct and torture abductees.
