European Union: Peace, Stability In Yemen Crucial For Security Of Gulf, Red Sea

The European Union (EU) confirmed that peace and stability in Yemen are crucial for the security of the Gulf and the Red Sea, reiterating its commitment to supporting the Yemeni people and working with the United Nations, regional partners and the international community to reduce escalation and achieve a comprehensive and lasting peace involving all parties.

The spokesperson for the EU said in a statement that the Houthi attacks represent a serious escalation, violate international law, undermine regional security and stability, and threaten to further hinder efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Yemen.

He strongly condemned the recent attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorist militias on Saudi Arabia, which targeted civilian and economic facilities in the south of the kingdom, resulting in injuries to 73 civilians, including women and children.

The EU expressed its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, wishing the injured a swift and full recovery, and emphasized that targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure is unacceptable.

The EU called on the Houthi terrorist militias to immediately stop all attacks inside and outside Yemen, including attacks targeting commercial navigation in the Red Sea, and to comply with UN Security Council Resolutions 2722 of 2024 and 2826 of 2026.
