Yemeni Ambassador Highlights Houthi Maritime Attacks in Talks with Pakistani Official

Yemen's Ambassador to Pakistan Mohammed al-Ashabi met with Director General for the Middle East at Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Farhat Ayesha to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Ambassador al-Ashabi briefed the Pakistani official on the latest developments in Yemen and the Presidential Leadership Council and government's efforts to restore state institutions and achieve lasting peace.

He said the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia continues to undermine peace efforts through its hostile actions, posing a threat to security and stability in Yemen and the wider region.

The ambassador also highlighted the militia's attacks on international shipping lanes and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, describing them as a direct threat to global maritime security and international trade. He stressed the need for sustained international action to deter such attacks and safeguard key international waterways.
