Ambassador Balfaqih Discusses Iranian Escalation with Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister
[15/07/2026 12:29]

JAKARTA – SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to the Republic of Indonesia Salem Balfaqih discussed Wednesday with Indonesia's Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Anis Matta the latest developments in Yemen, with particular focus on Iran's recent escalation, including the operation of flights from Tehran to Sana'a International Airport without prior authorization from the Yemeni government.

Ambassador Balfaqih highlighted the facilitation measures and practical solutions offered by the government to enable flights through Sana'a International Airport in accordance with established legal procedures.

He stressed that such actions constitute a clear violation of the sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen and contravene international law, the Charter of the United Nations, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

He added that these practices undermine ongoing peace efforts and pose a threat to the security and stability of Yemen and the wider region.

The ambassador reaffirmed the Yemeni government's unwavering commitment to safeguarding the country's sovereignty, territorial integrity, state institutions, and legal status.

He reiterated its rejection of any external interference targeting Yemen's legitimate institutions or conflicting with the principles of international law.

For his part, the Indonesian Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his country's close interest in monitoring developments in Yemen and reaffirmed Indonesia's support for efforts to promote peace and stability.

He emphasized the importance of dialogue and peaceful means as the primary path toward resolving the crisis.
