Yemen Cabinet Approves Rules to Regulate Official Overseas Travel
[19/06/2026 05:35]

ADEN-SABA
Yemen's Cabinet has approved new regulations governing official overseas travel and participation in international events, a move aimed at tightening oversight of foreign engagements, curbing unnecessary spending and improving coordination across government institutions.

The regulations, proposed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, establish procedures for approving official travel, determining delegation size and representation levels, and evaluating the outcomes of participation in regional and international conferences, forums and meetings.

According to a Cabinet source, the new framework is part of broader government reforms led by Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dr. Shaya Zindani to strengthen governance, transparency and accountability in the management of public resources.

The regulations require ministries and government agencies seeking approval for foreign participation to submit clear objectives, justifications and expected outcomes for each engagement. Participating entities will also be required to provide detailed reports assessing the results achieved and potential opportunities for partnerships, development support and international cooperation.
