Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi met Friday with the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly meetings.
The meeting touched on the distinguished bilateral relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the promising prospects for strengthening them in various fields, in addition to developments in the Yemeni and regional situations, the support required for the path of economic and service reforms, and containing the catastrophic repercussions of the terrorist Houthi militia attacks on oil facilities and trade ships.
President al-Alimi highly appreciated the honorable positions of the State of Kuwait alongside the Yemeni people at various stages and circumstances, and its sincere keenness to achieve their aspirations to restore state institutions, security, stability, peace, and development, in addition to the facilities and attention that the Yemeni community receives from the Kuwaiti authorities at all levels.
He also praised the efforts of Kuwaiti financial institutions and charitable organizations in rehabilitating services and alleviating the humanitarian suffering caused by the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime.
The President renewed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Government to support the efforts of the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and all good offices to achieve comprehensive and sustainable peace based on nationally, regionally and internationally agreed terms of reference, foremost among which is Security Council Resolution 2216.
For his part, the Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait affirmed Kuwait's continued support for the Yemeni people and their political leadership, and all efforts made to restore security, stability and peace in Yemen.
