Defense Minister Major General Mohsen al-Dairi met tuesday with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Yemen Abda Sharif.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in Yemen in light of regional and international changes, as well as efforts to secure freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.
The Defense Minister praised the strong historical relations between the two friendly countries and the UK's efforts to support the Yemeni government in facing economic and humanitarian challenges.
He confirmed that coordination among various military formations is continuously evolving through the Joint Operations Authority of the Ministry of Defense, stating that everyone's goal is to complete the liberation, restore state institutions, and defeat the Iran-backed Houthi terrorist militia.
Major General al-Dairi commended the growing awareness within the international community regarding the danger posed by the Houthi terrorist militia to regional and international security and maritime navigation, emphasizing that removing this looming threat requires supporting the capabilities of the armed forces to fulfill their duties in enforcing security and stability across every inch of the homeland.
For her part, the UK Ambassador reiterated her country's support for the Yemeni government to achieve security, stability, and peace.
