The Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) held a meeting, today, Thursday, presided over by His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Council, and in the presence of its members Sultan al-Aradah, Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi, Othman Mujalli and Faraj al-Bahsani, and via video conference Tariq Saleh and Abdul Rahman al-Mahrami, while Council member Aidarous Al-Zubaidi was absent with the excuse.
The meeting devoted to discuss topical issues and developments on the national arena and regional developments in relevance.
First and foremost the economic hardships and the security and humanitarian situations that have been seriously exacerbated by the attacks of the Iranian regime allied terrorist Houthi militias on oil facilities and international shipping lanes.
The PLC has asserted that the State is fully committed to deliver on its obligations and to address the problems in some basic services, improve revenues, support the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) to regain control over the market, eliminate monetary distortions, enhance ideal response to the disclosure standards and comply with the requirement for countering terrorism finances and money laundering.
The PLC held the Houthi militias fully responsible for the economic hardships and the deterioration of the living conditions, prompting the international sanctions, militarizing regional waters, bringing damage to the Yemeni people's interests and its national security.
The PLC called the terrorist Houthi militias to put the national interests above, abandon the Iranian expansion scheme, put down weapons and come to peace in accordance with its references agreed on nationally, regionally and internationally, namely the UNSC's resolution 2216.
The PLC welcomed the significant constructive transform in the supportive stances of the international community in support of the Yemeni people's struggle for restoring the State's institutions.
The PLC asserted that the best way to achieve security and stability in the region and protect the maritime passageways starts by backing the UN's member state and its armed forces to take control over its entire national territories, within a framework of comprehensive strategy partnership with the regional and international communities.
In this context, the PLC expressed great thanks and gratitude to the brothers in the Arab Coalition led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for their support for the Yemeni people and its official leadership, and for their significant humanitarian and development interventions in different fields.
