Yemen Participates in Preparatory Committee Meeting for International Conference on Financing for Development

Yemen participated in the 4th Preparatory Committee Meeting for the International Conference on Financing for Development at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The meeting is a precursor to the main conference scheduled to take place in Seville, Spain, in July.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badhib, represented Yemen at the meeting. He emphasized the importance of considering the needs of countries affected by conflicts in the new global framework for financing development.
Dr. Badhib highlighted the exceptional challenges facing Yemen and stressed the need for a different response from the international community.
He called for structural reform of international debt to alleviate the burden on countries affected by conflicts and advocated for enhanced international development cooperation.
The minister also participated in a ministerial panel discussion on the "Renewed Global Development Financing Framework," where he emphasized the need to promote national ownership and align assistance with national priorities.
