CAIRO - SABA
Yemen's Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt Khaled Bahah discussed Sunday with the Egyptian Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad Ambassador Tamer El-Meligi the situation of the Yemeni community and visitors for medical tourism and educational purposes.

Ambassador Bahah addressed the issue of Yemeni nationals stranded in the Gaza Strip based on previous arrangements with the brothers in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Qatar to make efforts to repatriate them to Yemen via the Egyptian city of Al-Arish.

He also discussed with the Assistant Minister the conditions of the state's citizens who have been sentenced in certain criminal cases, seeking to mitigate the death sentences issued against them, and completing the sentences of some in Yemeni prisons based on the security agreement signed between the two countries.

Ambassador Bahah pointed out the delays in security approvals for medical fellowship students, which sometimes extend for years, affecting the future of the studying doctors, emphasizing the need to find urgent solutions to enable them to complete their academic pursuits.

For his part, the Egyptian official affirmed Egypt's supportive stance towards the Yemeni people and their constitutional legitimacy, welcoming the Yemeni community in their second home in Egypt.

He noted that the ministry would communicate with all relevant authorities to address all issues concerning Yemeni nationals.
