MARIB-SABA
Marib's Deputy Governor Dr. Abdrabuh Miftah discussed with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) ways to expand humanitarian, relief, and development assistance in the governorate to help address growing humanitarian needs and support displaced families and host communities.
The discussions took place during a meeting with TİKA's Yemen Program Coordinator, Zubair Yakar Yılmaz, who is currently visiting Marib.
The meeting, attended by Dr. Kamal Al-Qadami, Chairman of the Relief and Construction Forum, TİKA's national implementing partner, reviewed the humanitarian situation in the governorate, which hosts more than 62 percent of Yemen's internally displaced population while continuing to receive additional displaced people and African migrants.
Dr. Miftah highlighted the mounting pressure on local authorities to provide essential humanitarian, relief, and development services amid declining international humanitarian funding, the economic fallout of the war sparked by the Houthi militia, and the growing impact of climate change and natural disasters.
