Yemen's national weather forecast center is expecting heavy thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and hail to hit the highlands, slopes and western coastal plains, from Saada in the north to Taiz, Al-Dhale and Lahj in the south during the next 72 hours.
The Meteorology and Early Warning Center at the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority has said in its weather news bulletin that satellite images, numerical model outputs and terrestrial observation indicate that the country will witness thunderstorms and strong winds, mentioning the possibility of continued rainfall of various intensity degrees, some accompanied by strong winds, on parts of the deserts, highlands and hills of Mahrah, Hadhramout, Shabwa, Abyan, Marib, and Al-Jawf governorates.
