MARIB-SABA
Deputy Governor of Marib Dr. Abd-Rabbu Miftah asked the UNICEF to have greater role in sustaining the local authority's efforts to respond to the increasingly growing needs of the IDPs mainly in the areas of health, education, water and childhood protection.
He made his request during his talks today, Tuesday, here with the UNICEF's Representative in Yemen Philippe Duamelle who is visiting Marib now to get first-hand information about the humanitarian situations and to further broaden the partnership with the local authority.
Miftah highly appreciated the UNICEF's significant humanitarian interventions in the governorate over the recent years, highlighting the need for more support in the fields of primary health care for motherhood and childhood, water and education.
Mr. Duamelle praised the robust partnership with Marib local authority, showing understanding for the growing needs of the IDPs who have continued to arrive in the governorate on daily basis.
