The Member of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Tariq Saleh arrived today, Thursday, in the Brazilian city of Belém, leading the delegation of the Republic of Yemen to contribute to the Climate Summit.
The Brazilian President Lula da Silva welcomed Saleh upon his arrival.
The summit is being held ahead of the 30th Conference of the Parties, scheduled to take place in Belém from November 10 to 21, to discuss international commitments to tackle the climate change crisis and accelerate a just transition to clean energy.
Yemen's participation in the summit is part of its diplomatic efforts aimed to assert its presence in international environmental forums, highlight the challenges the country faces due to climate change, and showcase national experiences and initiatives in the fields of clean energy, green reconstruction and water resource management.
