ADEN - SABA
The Minister of Transport Dr. Abdulsalam Humaid discussed today, Thursday, in the temporary capital Aden, with the Economic Advisor of the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen Reddick Metzger and his accompanying delegation the economic and humanitarian situation, as well as the movement of air, sea and land transport.
Humanid highlighted challenges facing the civil aviation sector, underlining that Houthi militias still control the air navigation center in Sana'a, which poses a threat to the safety and security of aviation in Yemen.
He blamed the Houthi militias for using airports and ports for illegal purposes, including the entry of military equipment and weapons.
'Recently, fifty containers containing military equipment and drone manufacturing equipment were seized at Aden Container Port', he affirmed.
The Transport Minister called on the UN Envoy to report about the terrorist Houthi militias' threats against civil aviation in his upcoming briefing to the United Nations Security Council.
