Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badeeb, participated in the general meeting of the World Bank Group in Washington, DC, with high-level participation represented by the President of the Bank Group and the Director General of the International Monetary Fund.
The meeting was chaired this year by the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Hassan Abdullah, and was attended by more than 3,000 officials representing 189 countries.
The meeting discussed the latest developments in the World Bank Group’s efforts to assist low-income countries at a time when the world is facing challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the global food and energy crisis, as these escalating crises pose a threat to livelihoods and harm the neediest and most vulnerable groups.
