Health Minister orders extra covid-19 vaccine doses for Marib
[23/05/2021 05:37]
MARIB – SABA
The Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Qassem Beheibeh, has directed health authorities to allocate an additional lot of coronavirus vaccine doses to Marib governorate where millions of escapees from the Houthi militia are residing.
Beheibeh ordered for new vaccination centers to be opened in the governorate to alleviate the great pressure on the current centers especially from those planning to travel to Saudi Arabia through Al-Wadiah port.
The minister told Saba today that the vaccination centers in Marib had vaccinated about 3,287 travelers to Saudi Arabia in the past two days.
This pressure reduced the doses available for health workers, the elderly people and those with chronic medical conditions.
He said that 90% of the people vaccinated in Marib hail from the governorates under the control of the Houthi militia.
