ADEN - SABA
Yemen has participated in the regional conference to review the Global Compact for Safe Migration, held through visual communication technology, and organized by the International Organization for Migration, the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), and the League of Arab States, in cooperation with the United Nations Network on Migration in the Arab region.
In a speech, Deputy Foreign Minister, Dr. Muhammad Al-Adeel
Al-Adeel pointed out to the ongoing attacks by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia on the Marib Governorate, which threatens horrific consequences in the largest concentration of IDPs in Yemen, which the UN estimates as more than two million IDPs.
He said the radical militia are jeorpardizing these millions of IDPs without any regard for the international humanitarian law.
He emphasized that the Ma'rib has represented over the past years a safe haven for many Yemenis who fled their homes due to the raging war in some cities and to escape the crackdown of the Houthi militia.
