Relief aid committee condemns Houthi burning of WFP granted flour

The national Committee for Relief Aid has condemned the Houthi burning of eight tons of flour offered by the World Food Program for the destitute in Raymah province north of Yemen on Friday.
In a press statement, the Committee said the Houthi "rebel militia "prevented the WFP from distributing assistance in Raymah which caused 14.8 metric tons of flour to decay." "In addition Houthi 'supervisors' in Raymah have broken into one of the WFP stores and burnt a quantity of the assistance in it."
The statement called upon the UN Under-Secretary-General For Humanitarian Affairs Mark Lowcock and the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen Lisa Grande to urgently intervene to probe into these acts and report to the UN Security Council.
The statement also called on the international community to take a swift action to stop these abuses of humanitarian aid.
