Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Lieutenant General Aidarus al-Zubaidi, emphasized the pivotal role of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in the path to achieving peace and restoring security and stability to Yemen.
This came during his meeting Wednesday here with the Secretary-General of the GCC, Jasem al-Budaiwi.
During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments in the political and humanitarian situations in Yemen, as well as the efforts made by regional and international partners to end the conflict, support the peace process and restore security and stability to the region.
The meeting also addressed the rapid events that have occurred in the region and their implications for the humanitarian situation in Yemen, as well as the role played by the GCC countries in supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, aiding efforts to normalize life, reform the work of state institutions, and improve living and service conditions in the liberated areas, to ensure the stability of the region and the wider area.
For his part, al-Budaiwi confirmed that the GCC countries support all relief and humanitarian efforts to help the Yemeni people overcome economic and living challenges.
He noted that the GCC General Secretariat looks forward to hosting the international conference on food security in Yemen in the near future.
