Governor of Abyan Abu Bakr Hassan Salem has highlighted woman's leading role in Abyan, which has been leading province in Yemen in social partnership and spread knowledge and modernization.

In a ceremony held in Zinjubar on Sunday, he pointed out that woman has become active participant in social life,

confirming support of the local authority to her efforts for enabling her to play a role- side by side man- in development.

Meanwhile, the Chairwoman of the Yemeni Women Union Amina al-Abd, said woman is peacemaker in rural areas and cities and participates in reconstruction and development.

She called for boosting her role indifferent fields and including her in local authority's leading positions.
