The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba stated that the Yemeni state undertakes its constitutional and sovereign responsibility to protect its citizens, lands, coasts, ports and territorial waters, and that enabling its institutions to carry out this responsibility is a key element for the security of Bab al-Mandeb, the Red Sea and international navigation and trade.

RIYADH – SABA
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Mohammed al-Faqmi discussed Wednesday with the U.S. Embassy’s Chargé d’Affaires to Yemen Neil Hope ways to strengthen cooperation in development and economic fields.

Support for the private sector, encourage U.S. investment in energy, mining and infrastructure and explore opportunities for trilateral coordination with regional partners to maximize the impact of development projects were discussed.

The two sides also discussed cooperation in preserving Yemen’s cultural heritage, continued U.S. support through international financial institutions, and academic exchange and training programs.

Minister al-Faqmi expressed appreciation for the United States’ continued support for Yemen, stressing the importance of strengthening the partnership amid the country’s ongoing economic and humanitarian challenges.

For his part, the U.S. diplomat reaffirmed the United States’ commitment to working with the Yemeni government and supporting efforts to promote economic recovery and strengthen the role of the private sector as a driver of growth.

The two sides agreed to maintain regular communication and joint efforts in a manner that serves the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.
