The Armed Forces and the National Resistance on Thursday engaged in fierce clashes with the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia on the Al-Barah front in Maqbana district, west of Taiz.
Military sources told Saba that the fighting began with an exchange of artillery fire before escalating into direct clashes that lasted for several hours. The sources said the Houthi militia suffered heavy losses, while similar confrontations were reported on the Al-Kadha front.
Meanwhile, the Armed Forces shot down three Houthi drones while they were flying over areas in Jabal Habashi district.
The military escalation coincided with the Houthi militia firing about 14 ballistic missiles towards rural areas in the cities of Mokha and Al-Khawkhah and other districts along the West Coast, in a new escalation targeting populated areas and civilian facilities.
The developments come amid continued Houthi escalation across several fronts west of Taiz and along the West Coast, where the Armed Forces and National Resistance continue to repel militia attacks.
