The symposium was organized by the Center of the Strategic Studies Center for the Near East and Southern Asia of US National Defense College in cooperation with Gulf Research Center and was participated by a number of officials, diplomats and researchers from Yemen, US, Gulf and Arab and other countries.

President Hadi issued directives to the government in 2012 to approve the national strategy for fighting terrorism then followed by formation of a ministerial committee to follow up implementation of this strategy, bin Mubarak said.
He clarified that the government has set up a national committee to follow up a center for requalification of extremists in Yemen and completion of fighting extremism programs, in cooperation with international partners and the United Nations.
