Government Committee Reviews Flood Damage in Districts of Taiz
The government committee assigned to assess flood damage headed by Minister of Local Administration Eng. Badr Basalama conducted Wednesday a field visit to review the extent of the destruction caused by floods in several areas of the districts of al-Mudhaffar, al-Qahira, Mocha Mawza and al-Wazi’iyah in Taiz Governorate.

Aden Governor Meets French, German Ambassadors to Boost Development Cooperation

Minister of State and Governor of Aden, Abdulrahman Sheikh, held talks on Thursday with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kammoun, and the German Ambassador, Thomas Friedrich Schneider, on strengthening cooperation and supporting key development and service sectors.

The meeting reviewed ongoing areas of cooperation and ways to expand them, along with opportunities to support the implementation of Aden’s priority needs matrix, aimed at enhancing the capacity of local authorities to address current challenges.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of supporting vocational education and modernizing its curricula to better align with labor market demands, helping equip young people with skills and create sustainable economic opportunities.

The meeting further addressed support for higher education, particularly Aden University, to improve the quality of academic outcomes.

Governor Sheikh praised the role of France and Germany in supporting Yemen, emphasizing the importance of broadening partnerships to help improve public services and living conditions. He also outlined efforts by local authorities to stabilize conditions and overcome existing challenges, stressing the need for continued international support.

For their part, the French and German ambassadors reaffirmed their countries’ commitment to supporting development and stability efforts in Aden, and to strengthening partnerships with local institutions in support of the development process.
