Al-Muharrami discusses with French Ambassador strengthening bilateral relations, combating terrorism

Member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Abdul Rahman al-Muharrami discussed Sunday with the French Ambassador to Yemen, Catherine Corm-Kamoun bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance cooperation and joint coordination in various fields.

During the meeting, al-Muharrami reviewed the latest developments in the economic and humanitarian situation in Yemen.

Pointing to the progress made in the economic recovery plan, and the comprehensive reforms that contributed to improving the value of the local currency and its positive repercussions on the prices of basic goods and services and reducing the living burdens on citizens.

The meeting discussed the importance of joint cooperation in combating terrorism and confronting extremist organizations.

In this regard, al-Muharrami stressed the need to redouble international efforts to support the government and the Presidential Leadership Council in a way that contributes to confronting the threats of the Houthi militias and other terrorist organizations that seek to destabilize the security and stability of the region.

Al-Mahrami stressed that the only way to end these threats is to support the Yemeni government to enable it to restore state institutions and extend its control over all lands, to become a strategic partner for the international community in securing the region and its waterways.

He expressed his appreciation to the French government and its embassy in Yemen and their role in the success of the Maritime Security Conference held recently in Riyadh, and the positive results and pledges that resulted from it to support the capabilities of the Yemeni Coast Guard forces to ensure the security of international navigation.

He pointed out that this support will represent a strong tributary to the efforts made in the field of maritime security, and will enhance Yemen's ability to protect its coasts and combat illegal activities in territorial waters.

For her part, the French Ambassador affirmed her country's commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni government, and its keenness to continue providing support in various fields, including efforts to combat terrorism, with the aim of enhancing security and stability in Yemen and the region.
