The University of Aden on Sunday launched the inaugural International Conference on Digital Transformation, Innovation and Sustainable Development (DTISD 2026), bringing together researchers and technology experts from 32 countries to examine how emerging technologies can drive economic growth and sustainable development.
Held in partnership with the Arab Academy for Administrative, Financial and Banking Sciences in Yemen, the three-day conference features presentations and research on topics including digital transformation, data science, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, internet technologies and other innovation-driven fields.
Opening the conference, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Amin Noman said rapid technological change has made it imperative for universities to rethink their role in preparing future generations. He stressed that investing in people remains the cornerstone of the government's vision for sustainable development, describing human capital as Yemen's most valuable national resource.
He urged public and private universities to embrace strategic planning, strengthen cooperation with regional and international academic institutions, and make better use of their financial and human resources to improve academic performance, expand research capacity and achieve internationally recognized standards.
