His Excellency President Dr. Rashad a-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Tuesday, the Ambassador of the Republic of India Suhel Ajaz Khan whose term as the Indian Ambassador in the Republic of Yemen has ended.

The President praised the significant efforts made by the Ambassador Khan during his diplomatic mission in Yemen, wishing him all the best in his career.

The President also voiced thanks and gratitude to the Republic of India for its balanced positions and support for Yemen's stability, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity.

His Excellency underlining the importance of continuing coordination and consultation between the two countries in various international forums, particularly on issues related to protecting waterways, respecting state sovereignty, and addressing cross-border threats.

President al-Alimi made it clear that the attempts by the Houthi terrorist militias to drag Yemen into a broader conflict, serving the agenda of the Iranian regime, represent not only a threat to Yemen but also have repercussions on the security and stability of the countries bordering the Red Sea and the Asian countries connected to this vital maritime route, first and foremost among them the friendly Republic of India.

The Chairman of the PLC stated that the international community must view the Houthi militias as part of an interwoven network of regional threats, given reports documenting their increasing coordination with terrorist organizations and armed groups in the Horn of Africa, their involvement in smuggling weapons and military technologies, and their use of these groups to threaten the security of international navigation, food supplies, and essential goods, as well as supporting piracy and transnational crime activities.
