Yemen took part today in the Second Meeting of the Steering and Follow-up Committee for the Arab Regional Program, with a delegation led by the Acting Permanent Representative of Yemen to the Arab League, Ambassador Dr. Ali Musa.
The meeting deliberated on the activities and role of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa, and its contributions to achieving peace, security, and development, as well as protecting human rights and safeguarding the region from the scourge of drugs, crime, corruption, and terrorism.
The meeting also touched upon the imperative of enhancing international cooperation in the realm of preventing and combating terrorism, and the importance of effective collaboration at both the national and international levels to prevent and combat human trafficking and migrant smuggling among member states.
