The Minister of Culture and Tourism Eng. Mute'a Dammaj discussed today, Tuesday, with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Yemen Thomas Friedrich and representatives of the German Goethe Institute, headed by the Institute's Head of Culture and Education Dr. Katharina Rockchell cultural cooperation between the Ministry and the Institute
The discussions, held via video conference, focused on the Goethe Institute's activities and the need for its programs in Yemen to further increase Yemeni-German cultural cooperation.
Dammaj highlighted the importance of reactivating the Goethe Institute's programs and activities in Yemen, calling for establishing a branch of the institute in the temporary capital Aden.
The conversations also underscored the need for supporting the German Language Department at the University of Aden and discussed the possibility of transferring and organizing internationally recognized German language exams in the city of Aden.
The Minister of Culture and Tourism stated that the government is keenly seeking to establish cultural cooperation with the international cultural organizations, such as German Goethe Institute.
The German Ambassador and representatives of the Goethe Institute demonstrated willingness to expand areas of partnership and cooperation with the Yemeni government and to support cultural and educational programs in the coming period to serve the common interests and promote cultural exchange between the two countries.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Yemen to Berlin Lou'ay al-Eryani contributed to the talks.
