The Secretary-General of the Local Council in Aden Governorate, Badr Muawen discussed Thursday with the Director of the UN Office for Safety and Security Pristelle Sadatchi and her accompanying delegation a number of issues related to protecting the premises of the United Nations' organizations in Aden.
The meeting touched upon efforts made by the security agencies to provide the necessary protection for the delegations and premises of the offices of the UN-affiliated international organizations.
In the meeting, Muawen stressed importance of the stability of the security situation in Aden, reviewing the efforts made by the security agencies in their various formations and at all levels to enhance the security process and achieve stability throughout the governorate, and to provide all the requirements of security work and raise the security readiness to the highest levels, especially in the locations and presence of the premises of international and United Nations organizations, considering this a red line that is not to be compromised.
He affirmed that the local authority and its security agencies in the capital, Aden, are in constant communication and joint coordination with all international organizations, including the UN Office for Safety and Security.
For her part, the UN official praised the efforts of the local authority in Aden and the improvement of the security situation, noting the need to enhance community awareness regarding security and safety.
