Houthi Militias Kidnap 30 Yemenis, Besiege Village Over September 26 Celebrations
[27/09/2026 03:44]
DHAMAR-SABA

Houthi militias have kidnapped 30 citizens in Dhamar Governorate over their participation in celebrations marking the 64th anniversary of the September 26 Revolution, local sources said.

The sources said 11 were kidnapped in Al-Hada’a District, eight in Anss, six in Atma, four in Douran and one in Dhamar city.

The militias also besieged Bani Ali al-Shabtan village in Al-Hada’a after residents lit a September 26 Revolution torch on a nearby mountain. They detained farmers in surrounding valleys to pressure villagers into handing over those accused of lighting the torch.

The militias had ordered local sheikhs and community leaders to prevent any September 26 celebrations and deployed checkpoints across Dhamar city and district entrances, searching residents’ phones and personal belongings.
