State Minister for Displacement and Illegal Migration Waleed al-Abara met Monday with OCHA Yemen Director Karen Pojan and Assistant Special Representative Zakaria Saeed.
He discussed with them strengthening humanitarian coordination and support for displaced people.
The minister highlighted urgent needs, particularly emergency shelter, and called for the relocation of displaced people staying in seven schools in Al-Madhariba and Ras al-Ara districts of Lahj to safer locations.
He also stressed improving aid access, data sharing, and camp infrastructure.
OCHA said its emergency response has reached around 90,000 of the estimated 129,000 displaced people, while funding shortages and security challenges remain major obstacles.
Both sides agreed to strengthen strategic and operational coordination and continue joint efforts to address displacement and improve humanitarian assistance.
