His Excellency President Dr. Rashad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) received today, Monday, UN Assistant Secretary –General, Assistant Administrator and Director, Regional Bureau for Arab States of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Abdallah al- Dardari and the UN Resident Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs in Yemen Julien Harneis.
The UN's officials briefed President al-Alimi on the UN's development and humanitarian programs and activities and the ongoing partnership programs with the Yemeni government and regional and international partners.
The Chairman of the PLC welcomed the UN's high rank delegation in Aden, appreciating the UN's helpful role and contribution to the development and humanitarian actions to alleviate the Yemeni people's suffering caused by the Iranian regime backed Terrorist Houthi militias.
Al-Dardari and Harneis spoke about the importance of the national plans that are put forward to the international community and the role of the UN in sustaining the government's reforms in different fields.
The UN Assistant Secretary-General cited the UN's programs aiming to improve the government absorption of the developmental and humanitarian projects, including arrangements to send international experts to help working out the framework of the national economic recovery in Yemen.
