President al-Alimi stresses importance of resuming US humanitarian aid
[26/09/2025 03:52]

NEW YORK - SABA
Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Dr. Rashad al-Alimi and Council Member Dr. Abdullah al-Alimi received Friday Acting US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Maura Namdar.

The meeting, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, discussed the distinguished bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the prospects for strengthening and developing them.

The meeting also discussed latest developments in the local situation at all levels and the international support required for comprehensive reform efforts.

The President renewed his praise for the American positions in support of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Yemeni government and people, and their aspirations to end the coup of the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, and restore state institutions, security, stability, and peace.

He noted the existing aspects of cooperation and partnership in the fields of combating terrorism, enhancing the security of borders and land and sea ports, as well as the effective American role in supporting the United Nations inspection mechanism, implementing the decision to ban Iranian weapons smuggled to the Houthi militias, and drying up their sources of funding and terrorist activities, which destabilize the security and stability of Yemen and the region.

He also praised President Donald Trump's policies and his advanced stance towards the Iranian militias in Yemen and the region, expressing his aspiration to resume American aid and extend legal protection for Yemeni citizens fleeing the brutality of the Houthi militias.
