In the meeting, the Russian Foreign Minister conveyed to the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council the greetings of His Excellency President Vladimir Putin, and his congratulations to Yemen, its leadership, government and people, on the occasion of the sixty-third anniversary of the September 26 Revolution.

The meeting discussed the long-standing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, and the promising opportunities to expand and strengthen them in various fields, in light of the results of the fruitful visit of the President to Moscow last May.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Republic of Yemen and the Russian Federation, the Russian position in support of constitutional legitimacy, Moscow's keenness to establish peace and stability and end the suffering of the Yemeni people, and its constant condemnation of terrorist threats that destabilize the security of waterways and international peace and security.

The meeting also touched on the ongoing preparations for the first Russian-Arab summit scheduled to be held next October with the participation of Yemen.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, the Russian Foreign Minister, presented the latest developments in the local situation, the repercussions of the devastating war ignited by the terrorist Houthi militias, their serious attacks on shipping lines and shipping ships, as well as their gross violations of human rights, including the arrest and disappearance of dozens of employees of United Nations agencies, organizations and international missions.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Government to a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace approach in accordance with nationally, regionally and internationally agreed terms of reference led by UN Security Resolution 2216.
