The Yemeni government held consultations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Amman as part of the Yemen Partnership Group discussions, focusing on evaluating economic performance, including macroeconomic, fiscal, monetary, and trade frameworks, as well as essential services sectors like electricity and energy.
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Dr. Waed Badhib, emphasized the importance of these consultations in building a medium-term economic framework to enhance recovery, reconstruction, and transition to economic growth, creating jobs for youth, and strengthening partnership with the private sector.
Dr. Badhib highlighted the need for IMF and regional/international partner support in mobilizing financing to achieve economic stability and growth, praising IMF efforts in backing the Rapid Priorities Plan, especially after improvements in national currency value and prices.
