Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Muammer al-Eryani described the death of the prisoner Jehad Saleh Mokaber, from Ottomah District of Dhamar governorate, few days after he had been released from Houthi militia's detention centers as a crime against humanity.
In a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) he said" Prisoner Jehad Mokaber suffered kidney failure due to psychological and corporal torture he had been subjected to for more than three years in the militia's jails, the militiamen denied him medical treatment".
The Minister stated that Mokaber death must serve as a remainder of the unbearable tragedy of thousands of unfortunate
Yemeni politicians, journalists, activists and soldiers have been held in the militia's illegal detention centers for years.
He called on the UN, US envoy and international organizations to press for enforcing prisoner exchange deal under Stockholm Agreement.
