As Marib faces savage Houthi war, Abyan sends relief aid shipment
[04/03/2021 03:16]

ABYAN - SABA
The people and local government of Abyan have sent a food aid shipment to the people of northern Marib province which is under the strain of month-long renewed and savage Houthi war.

The governor of Abyan Abu Bakr Hussein Salem said, “This is the first aid shipment from the people of Abyan … to support the brotherly army, popular resistence and tribes of Marib as per the orders of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.”

The Iran-backed Houthi theocratic group is trying to overrun Marib with recurrent senseless offensives and has killed and re-displaced large number of refugees who had once escaped their crackdown in northwest Yemen.

“The Battle of Marib is the battle of all Yemenis and defending Marib is the duty of all the people of Yemen,” Abyan’s governor said as he saw off the aid convoy depart.
