PARIS-SABA
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah al-Zouba met today, Tuesday, with the head of the Yemeni-French Friendship Group in the French Senate, Remy Ferro.
The talks covered the developments in Yemen amid the ongoing military escalation by Iran-allied terrorist Houthi militias against civilian sites and international shipping routes.
Al-Zouba made it clear that Houthi threats and coordination with terrorist organizations in the Horn of Africa make the militias into a cross-border danger that requires a firm international stance.
She outlined the humanitarian suffering caused by the Houthi militias’ blockade of Taiz city, as well as the crimes of kidnapping and torture against UN staff and humanitarian workers, which recently claimed the life of UN employee Mohammed al-Shami.
The French Senator confirmed that France and the EU are interested in adopting a new approach to the Yemen issue that keeps up with field developments.
She confirmed Paris's rejection of all Houthi violations against civilians.
