Yemen seeks re-participation in international peacekeeping forces

The Head of Intelligence Authority General Ahmad al-Yafe'i discussed on Tuesday with the UN Secretary General Assistant for peacekeeping Forces John Lakroy activating Yemen's participation in the forces.
Al-Yafe'i confirmed significance of restoring Yemen's military forces' participation in peacekeeping operations across the world as it was in the past.
He made it clear that Yemen participated in big numbers of police forces and army in the framework of UN peacekeeping forces until its participation frozen in 2016.
For his part, the UN official confirmed significance of Yemen's role in peacekeeping forces, noting that suspension of its participation was a loss to the forces.
He hoped Yemen's participation return to the forces as soon as possible.
