The Chargé d'Affaires of the Yemeni Embassy in Damascus, Mohammed Ba'akar discussed with the Director of the Consular Affairs Department at the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Al-Omar on Monday ways to enhance consular cooperation between the two countries.
Ba'akar discussed with the Syrian diplomat and facilitating consular procedures related to the Yemeni community residing in Syria.
The two parties also discussed appropriate mechanisms to address the situations of those who are in violation due to their inability to provide the necessary documents over the past years because of the circumstances faced by both countries.
They explored ways to develop and facilitate the consular services provided, coordinate efforts in humanitarian and emergency situations, as well as the necessary procedures to reactivate travel between the two countries and other issues of mutual interest.
Ba'akar emphasized the depth of the relations between the two countries, expressing his appreciation for the efforts made by the Syrian government to overcome all the difficulties facing the Yemeni community.
For his part, the Director of the Consular Affairs Department at the Syrian Foreign Ministry praised the ongoing cooperation with the Yemeni Embassy, affirming the commitment to provide and facilitate consular procedures in a manner that reflects the common ties between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
