PM reiterates government's commitment to implement Sweden Agreement

Prime Minister Dr Ma'een Abdulmalik has reiterated the legitimate government's commitment to implement Sweden Agreement in full about Hodeidah city, seaports, prisoner exchange. He stated that the government is willing to support all underway efforts to establish sustainable peace based on the three well known terms of reference which are internationally backed and gained national consensus about.
His statement came as he met on Tuesday in Geneva with Britsh Minister of State for Middle East and International Cooperation Alistair Burt.
The session devoted to discuss the developments about the situations in Yemen and underway UN-led efforts to put Sweden Agreement in place about Hodeidah seaports, prisoner exchange and opening safe humanitarian routes.
Conversations also touched upon Yemeni-British bilateral ties and cooperation and prospects of the UK's support for the Yemeni government's efforts to renormalize situations and reinstate basic services and allay the Yemeni peoples' suffering.
Dr Ma'een briefed Burt on his government's efforts and policies aiming to manage the economic challenges and mitigate the humanitarian crisis.
He cited the practical steps taken by the government including endorsing the state's general budget of 2019, paying above half of the government's employees, pensioners and its plan to pay health sector's employees and University professors in the militia controlled regions.
