RIYADH
President of Republic Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi received Thursday American Ambassador to Yemen Mathew Tuller.
The discussions dealt with a number of topics of common interest for the two friendly countries and peoples.
President Hadi praised the American administration's efforts to support Yemen and its legitimate leadership. He highly appreciated coordination and cooperation about challenges facing Yemen and the region through countering terrorism and Iranian regime's interventions in the region and its Houthi militia that serves as Iranian agents.
The President reiterated his interest in establishing permanent peace that is based on the three well known terms of reference including GCC's Initiative, its executive mechanism, outcomes of National Dialogue and UNSCR 2216.
President Hadi pointed out to the rebels' intransigence and reluctance when it comes to act for peace, as they are reacting to Stockholm's Agreement which puts their intentions to test. He stated that as usual the rebels have proved they have never been engaged seriously in peace process, so more pressures by the UN and International Community is imperative to push peace ahead.
The American diplomat expressed pleasure for constructive cooperation and coordination between the two countries for the region's interest, security and peace.
Mr Tuller reiterated the U.S. support for Yemen and its legitimate authority. He also praised the government's efforts to manage economic hardships and pay pensioners and civil service employees.
Director of Republic Presidency Office Dr Abdullah al-Alimi was in attendance.
