RIYADH-SABA
Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Dr. Mansour Bajjash met with Chinese Ambassador to Yemen Kang Yong.
Bajjash recounted the political developments in Yemen including government's declared intent to participate in the upcoming peace consultations with Houthi putschists in Sweden.
He stressed that the government's position is consistent with the commitment to seek realizing peace in accordance with the three fundamental terms of reference; the GCC Initiative, the National Dialogue Outcomes and the UN Security Council resolutions.
He said it is highly important that the international community takes a firm stance against any foot-dragging or other tactics the Houthi militia use to fail the coming peace talks, as they failed the talks that had been scheduled to take place in Geneva last September by not showing up.
The Chinese ambassador praised the Yemeni government's agreement to participate in the coming talks in Sweden.
He renewed the Chinese support to the government and to the efforts for reaching a political solution to the Yemeni crisis based on the agreed terms of reference.
