CAIRO – SABA
The League of Arab States has condemned the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi terrorist militia against armed forces positions in the governorates of Marib and Hadhramaut, as well as its targeting of the Najran region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which resulted in casualties.
In a statement issued Friday, Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy affirmed that the continued attacks and military escalation inside Yemen, along with the targeting of Saudi territory and the endangerment of civilians' lives, represent a highly dangerous course of action.
He warned that such actions threaten regional security and stability while undermining opportunities for de-escalation and a political settlement.
The statement stressed the need to halt Houthi attacks and the ongoing escalation inside Yemen. It also expressed the Arab League's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting any aggression targeting its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
Furthermore, the statement emphasized that the current phase requires an end to the escalation, refraining from any actions that could widen the scope of the conflict, and returning to the political process in a manner that preserves Yemen's stability, unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity and the security of Saudi Arabia.
