Planning Minister, World Bank and IFC Discuss Investment Climate

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba met with a joint delegation from the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) on Tuesday to discuss strengthening coordination, improving Yemen's investment climate, and expanding support for private sector development.

The talks focused on aligning IFC programs with the government's economic reform agenda, improving the business environment, and increasing investment and financing in priority sectors. Participants also reviewed ongoing World Bank-supported projects and their alignment with the government's upcoming 2027-2029 National Development and Reconstruction Plan.

Dr. Al-Zouba said the government is seeking a stronger IFC presence in Yemen through initiatives that encourage investment and support private sector growth, stressing the importance of close coordination to maximize the impact of development programs.

The World Bank and IFC delegation reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Yemen, expanding cooperation with the government, and promoting investment and private sector financing in line with the country's development priorities and reform agenda.
