Inspector General of Armed Forces Discusses Latest Developments with EU and Dutch Ambassadors to Discuss Latest

The Inspector General of the Armed Forces, Major General Adel al-Qumairi discussed Friday with the European Union Ambassador to Yemen Patrick Simonnet and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands Janet Seppen latest developments on the national scene and exchange views on security and military developments.

The meeting addressed recent field developments, the efforts undertaken by the Armed Forces in carrying out their national duties, as well as several issues related to joint cooperation, particularly support for institutional capacity building and strengthening areas of mutual interest.

At the beginning of the meeting, which was attended by Chief of Operations Major General Khaled al-Ashwal and Chief of Logistics Support Major General Abdulaziz al-Faqih, the Inspector General welcomed the European Union delegation and praised the support provided by the European Union and the Netherlands to Yemen in various fields.

Al-Qumairi stressed the importance of continuing coordination with international partners in a way that contributes to supporting the military institution and enhancing its ability to carry out its responsibilities.

He emphasized that Yemen’s stability represents a fundamental pillar for achieving security in the region.

For their part, the ambassadors of the European Union and the Netherlands affirmed the EU’s continued support for the Yemeni people and their commitment to strengthening cooperation and joint coordination.

They also praised the role played by the Armed Forces in maintaining security and stability in Yemen.
