NAIROBI – SABA
The Republic of Yemen is participating in the fifth Regional Maritime Law Enforcement Dialogue for the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, held in Nairobi, alongside the 2026 Prosecutors’ Network Forum in Mombasa.

Both events run through August 28. Yemen is represented by a high-level delegation from the Ministry of Justice, the Public Authority for Maritime Affairs, the Coast Guard, and INTERPOL.

The events are organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in partnership with the European Union.

Discussions focus on maritime security threats, including arms and drug smuggling, protection of critical maritime infrastructure, information-sharing, legal gaps, and improving procedures for collecting and preserving evidence related to maritime crimes.

Yemen’s participation underscores its efforts to strengthen cooperation and information exchange with international partners and support joint initiatives to enhance maritime security and safety and protect navigation in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
